Basic knowledge about car engines is important when you own or drive a car. For instance, if your “check engine” light comes on, it is important that you know which part of the engine has a problem. Now that is challenging because the question would be, “which part of the engine needs checking?” Taking the car to a mechanic could be risky, too. Not only will it cost you money, but they could be checking on another part of the engine, do something about it and in the end it can cause another set of problems. Most of these problems could be with the mass airflow sensor, thus the need for a mass airflow sensor cleaner.

Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner

Late model vehicles are highly computer controlled to reduce emissions, maximize fuel economy and improve consumer comfort. The various control systems in vehicles are interrelated and controlled by multiple computers that constantly monitor vehicle performance through a myriad of sensors located throughout the vehicle, such as the mass air flow sensor. Based on information received, the computers adjust the vehicle performance through a series of valves, switches and motors. Each mass air flow sensor meets Original Equipment (OE) standards for quality and durability. The mass air flow sensors are manufactured in the industry’s most advanced production facilities and tested extensively before they are approved for installation in your vehicle. These mass airflow sensors, though, will not function as designed if they are not cleaned and ensured that they are properly maintained. Mass airflow sensors which have problems can cause serious problems including low gas mileage, shuddering, stalling, knocking, pinging, erratic engine performance, can even consume more fuel than the usual.

A mass airflow sensor cleaner is very much needed when these problems occur. Contrary to what other experts say, you do not have to replace your mass airflow sensor right away. As simple as cleaning it and getting the right cleaner could just do the trick. Spraying these wires clean with mass airflow sensor cleaner or electrical contact cleaner and leaving the mass airflow sensor to air dry is the best approach to cleaning this sensitive instrument. Once it is dry, it can be reinstalled and the car can be started again. If engine performance is restored or the check-engine-soon light goes off, it is likely that the mass airflow sensor was dirty and not broken. So as mentioned earlier, it is not a wise idea to replace the mass airflow sensor right away with a new one. The thing is, car owners need to know where to get these cleaners which is best suited for their mass airflow sensors since they are said to be highly sensitive. When it comes to car matters, it is always best to consult the experts. With a mass sensor cleaner, it does not only save you with the cost but it also gives you a better understanding of how mass airflow sensors work and know what to do when the same problem occurs in the future.
